Spirit Kin Bag
My art is inspired by the beautiful landscape of the Peak District and the myths and legends that are woven into its fabric.
While the moor is what we first think of here the area is also richly wooded, with wonderful hidden paths much less travelled by.
I have been reading the wildwood grove books by Katherine Genet, and been utterly captivated by them. In them she says that we all have spirit kin who walk besides us and guide us and I was rather taken with this idea. She describes how we must call them to us, so I had a try at it and this is rather predictably who turned up! As I have spent the best part of 50 years falling off various horses but they have never lost the ability to bring joy to my heart, and it is my honour to have horse walk the wildwood with me
